From driver to owner: Xpress, Cebuana Lhuillier launch Boss Hulog

Metro Manila, Philippines - September 29, 2026 - Filipino mobility platform Xpress, in partnership with Cebuana Lhuillier, has formally launched the Xpress Boss Hulog Program, with its first batch of 18 driver- partners beginning a one-year journey toward owning the electric vehicles they drive.

Boss Hulog is designed to give qualified Xpress drivers a clearer path from daily income to long-term vehicle ownership. Through an affordable daily payment scheme, participating drivers can work toward owning their EV taxi while continuing to earn through the Xpress platform.

Upon successful completion of the one-year program and its requirements, drivers can transition from driving a company-supported vehicle to owning an income-generating asset of their own.

The initiative reflects the shared vision of Xpress and Cebuana Lhuillier to create more opportunities for hardworking Filipinos through entrepreneurship, financial empowerment and asset ownership.

The first 18 participants were recognized during a ceremonial signing and symbolic giant-key handover attended by Xpress executives, Cebuana Lhuillier representatives and members of the drivers' families.

Xpress President Cliff Cabungcal said the program is built around partnership and shared growth between the company and its driver community.

“Ito na ang negosyo na ating gustong itayo, katuwang ang bawat isa sa inyo. Aming kinagagalak na maging partner kayo sa adhikain namin na ito na maging ka-negosyo kayong lahat (This is the kind of business we want to build together with each one of you. For Xpress, the program represents a shift from viewing drivers simply as users of a mobility platform toward helping them become long-term partners, vehicle owners and independent entrepreneurs.

Xpress Chief of Staff Alyssa Duldulao said Boss Hulog is intended to create opportunities that go beyond providing a source of income.

“Dahil ang adhikain ng Xpress ay hindi lamang makapagbigay ng employment o pagkakataong magkaroon ng sarili ninyong pagkakakitaan, kundi tulungan kayong magkaroon, eventually, ng sariling asset bilang bunga ng inyong sipag at pagsisikap (The mission of Xpress is not only to provide opportunities to earn, but also to help drivers eventually own an asset they can call their own through their hard work and perseverance.),” Duldulao said.

Following the ceremony, the first 18 Xpress Boss Hulog participants drove home their assigned EV taxis, marking the beginning of their one-year journey from driver-partners toward future vehicle ownership.

For several participants, family members were present to witness the milestone, underscoring what vehicle ownership can mean beyond the individual driver: a more stable livelihood and a long-term asset for the household.

More than a vehicle ownership initiative, Boss Hulog forms part of Xpress' broader strategy of creating pathways that allow drivers to earn, build assets and eventually operate as entrepreneurs.
